Spring Installation Guide: How to Install the Dock Disk™

The best time to install your Dock Disk is in the spring before zebra mussels begin attaching for the new season.

Before installing the disk, it’s important to remove any zebra mussels left from the previous year. Even dead shells can create sharp surfaces and provide areas where new mussels may attach.

Thoroughly clean all surfaces within the area you plan to protect.

This includes:

• Dock posts
• Boat lifts
• Ladders
• Shore station legs
• Swim platforms
• Any submerged dock materials

Use a scraper, brush, or pressure washer to remove any remaining zebra mussels from the previous season.

Starting with a clean surface helps ensure the Dock Disk can prevent new mussels from settling in the protected area.

• Once the area is clean, deploy the Dock Disk in the water.
• Hang the Dock Disk™ using the provided hanging system.
  The disk should be suspended 3.5–4 feet below the water surface.
  A weight keeps the disk submerged while allowing it to move gently with the natural flow of water.
• This positioning allows the disk to protect the surrounding area effectively.

• Each Dock Disk provides protection for up to 6 months.
• For continued protection throughout the boating season:
• Replace the Dock Disk every 6 months.
